Dance like nobody's watching, love like you've never been hurt. Sing like nobody's listening, live like it's heaven on earth. -Mark Twain-

Old Wine Boxes

I like wine, but honestly, I think I like the boxes just as much, if not better. Yes, I’m hedonist and visual kind of, but I do like wine.

I like the slow sipping of something delicious that makes my cooking taste even better.

I like the sharing of quiet moments with friends. I like the culture and traditions of vinticulture and the beauty and art of logos and burning them into wood.

I love the smell of corks and the look of wine stains.
Wine boxes are just a wee part of that, but oh so fun and in these days of cutting back and “going green,” they are such a wonderful resource that we can create wonderful new uses for.

The New Rustic

These days, rustic décor covers the design gamut, capturing a little piece of farmhouse, traditional, cottage, industrial, and vintage styles. The main element found in rustic décor is a layering of natural materials, such as of salvaged wood, river rock, glass, stone, brick, and tarnished metals.

If you’re looking to add a little bit of rustic décor to your home, but don’t want to commit to an entire room, it’s easy to start with a few small rustic accessories. Whether your style is traditional or contemporary, masculine or feminine, every home can incorporate a touch of rustic décor with ease.

Light to the people

A little BBQ evening with friends

If you're hosting a family barbecue or BBQ evening for friends, setting up with some forethought gives you time and energy to enjoy the party with your guests.

An important first step in making an outdoor spot feel inviting is to bring some comfortable furniture to your design plan. For a rustic/country look, materials such as wood, wicker, rattan and iron offer a natural look. Weathered, distressed or painted finishes add informal charm.
Adding little homey touches enhances the natural, easygoing feel of a rustic styled outdoor area.

With your warm rustic décor, you'll probably want to use your outdoor space at night as well as during the daytime.

Try some hurricane table lanterns or sturdy pole style varieties.
Natural firelight is the perfect gentle complement to rustic decorating. Candlelight, a roaring fire pit or some torches will bathe your evening in a soft glow.

Complete your rustic yard design by adding some final accents and decorative touches,.
Arrange fragrant fresh blossoms in a simple glass vase or colorful glass bottles.

No matter what the theme, get ideas for table settings, flowers, and other decorations for your next outdoor party.
