    The overall simplicity of form is very modern, but the rustic crates are anything but – a stylistic balance This kind of design approach could be even better employed in other modern kitchen layouts, includes kitchens with central islands.

There are entire warehouses full of these as shown in the picture above. No one ever anticipated them becoming valuable some day to folks who have a taste for retro and vintage interior remodeling materials. Their use in this novel way creates a strange balance between a heavily industrial look and a delicate antique aesthetic.

The rustic-modern trend is one that I hope sticks around forever! It's such a welcome change from "Tuscan rustic" -- where everything matches and tries too hard to conjure a certain time period or look.

Magazines inspire me to look for ways to incorporate rustic elements into my home in elegant and sophisticated ways. The trick is to not go overboard. Sometimes all it takes is one bench with natural aged wood, contemporary chairs, and lots of white. Chic !!

The adverts feature the ladies dressed in retro-inspired garments sitting in a New York studio made to look like a Hollywood star’s old-fashioned dressing room. I love these pictures and dresses are just exquisite and beautiful.
